Functional Architect

Job Description:

The overall objective for the functional architect is to perform all analysis, design, development, test, and integration activities necessary for the successful future delivery of the company’s solution. The functional architect serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) for functional ERP component content, processes, and procedures. The functional architect understands multiple and specific module configurations, and integration with major functional areas. This position is also recognized across the organization for expertise, and sought as a resource for resolution of unique or complex implementation and support problems. 


  • Conduct Business Process Reengineering (BPR) to evaluate potential business process changes
  • Conduct analysis to compare the company’s OOTB solution to their requirements
  • Conduct a technical risk and standards assessment to identify risks and provide improvement strategies
  • Conduct a performance and scalability assessment to determine user capacity, data capacity, and computing resource requirements
  • Assess OOTB interfaces against interface requirements
  • Develop comprehensive build plan for all requirements
  • Conduct analysis to identify design activities and develop specific artifacts
  •  Translate customer requirements into a best fit within the application, and develops processes and documentation that support the Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC)
  • Contribute overall strategic vision, and integrate a broad range of ideas regarding implementation and support
  • Undertake the most complex implementation and support projects involving multiple disciplines, and may impact multiple business units
  • Deliver accountabilities in accordance with approved SDLC processes
  • Oversee the development of the product as per the specifications
  • Facilitate change and configuration management
  • Monitor performance, discover variances and propose necessary actions
  • Validate the functionality of the product per the requirement specifications
  • Prepare technical user manuals, system configuration documents and other technical reports


  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in related field required
  • Thorough knowledge of the area of specialization
  • Analytical and investigation skills
  • Ability to understand the bigger picture
  • Working knowledge of data and process modelling
  • Grip over database concepts like DBMS, ETL, and SQL
  • Good command over spoken and written communication 
  • Minimum SECRET Security Clearance Required
