Enterprise Architect

Basic Function

The enterprise architect will work with stakeholders to build a holistic view of the organization's strategy, processes, information, and information technology assets. The role of the enterprise architect is to take this knowledge and ensure that the enterprise and its IT are in alignment. The enterprise architect links the business mission, strategy, and processes of an organization to its IT strategy, and documents this using multiple architectural models or views that show how the current and future needs of an organization will be met in an efficient, sustainable, agile, and adaptable manner.

Responsibilities

  • Manage the development of solution-specific architecture viewpoints
  • Maintain the DoDAF architecture viewpoints
  • Ensure architecture remains consistent with current solution configurations and designs across all releases and sustainment
  • Ensure compliance with the prevailing release of the DOD Business Enterprise Architecture (BEA)
  •  Provide high level strategic advice for future investment in IT systems and processes to support business objectives
  •  Develop IT architectures and standards for the organization that supports implementation of the IT strategy
  • Translate business practices and processes into architectures to enable delivery of appropriate solution
  • Develop and manages implementation of IT technology road maps aligned with the IT and business strategy
  • Undertake high level research, horizon scanning and analysis to identify future IT trends, and accesses applicably to support business objectives 
  • Participate in the design and implementation of IT service management standards, tools and methodologies

Skills/Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree or higher in relevant area
  • Ability to provide strategic advice on future IT system purchases
  • IT awareness and impact
  • IT strategy and governance
  • Team work
  • Critical analysis and decision making
  • Minimum SECRET Security Clearance Required
