Test Engineer

Job Description:

Designs, develops, and implements cost-effective methods of testing and troubleshooting systems and equipment for all phases of product development and manufacturing. Prepares test and diagnostic programs, designs test fixtures and equipment, and completes specifications and procedures for new products. Plans the labor, schedules, and equipment required for testing and evaluating standard and special devices.

The overall Test and Evaluation objective is to support the solution design and development by serving as a feedback mechanism in the iterative system engineering and planning. The specific objectives to support the Risk Reduction phase are to (1) gain a full understanding of the solution, and (2) plan for all necessary test events to ensure all program milestone are achieved.


  • Conduct a requirements testability analysis
  • Identify requirements with test limitations
  • Provide recommendations to improve requirements testability
  • Support the COTS assessment and characterization
  • Create and maintain test plans
  • Establish a testing schedule within the program


  • Bachelor's degree or higher in relevant area
  • Technical capacity
  • Ability to design, develop and implement cost-effective methods of testing
  • Problem solving/analysis
  • Ability to identify requirements with test limitations
  • Ability to create and maintain test plans
  • Capacity to establish an event driven testing schedule 
  • Minimum SECRET security clearance required
