Business Intelligence Reporting Specialist

Basic Function

The overall objective for the business intelligence reporting specialist is to perform all analysis, design, development, test, and integration activities necessary for the successful future delivery of the company’s solution. Responsible for supporting the strategic design and maintenance of business intelligence applications. Identifies, researches, and resolves technical problems. Ensures that the use of business intelligence applications enhances business decision making capabilities. 

Responsibilities

  • Create data warehouses (very large databases, usually loaded from transaction and Enterprise Resource Planning [ERP] systems, to support decision making in an organization) and/or data marts (a subset of a data warehouse for a single department or function).  
  • Design, develop and implement data mining tools, reports, dashboards and other analyses to sift through large amounts of data to find relationships and patterns 
  • Identify intelligence needs of each department through one-to-one communications of key employees 
  • Research and analyze areas of interest to the company which will allow the company to gain a competitive advantage 
  • Perform market research and analysis 
  • Gather and analyze information for project-related research and produce reports  
  • Participate in management meetings related to intelligence reporting  
  • Implement the recommendations of intelligence reporting and management
